A hero just back from Dragonsand tells a knight in training about his dangerous journey. He warns him that the dragon is the king of all monsters and that only the skilled should ever venture near them. The knight listens intensely as his questions are answered by this hero of great knowledge. Other listeners are amazed at the knowledge being passed around during that late night in the New Sorpigal tavern.
